Blue the Indianapolis Colts Mascot

Blue the Indianapolis Colts Mascot

Indianapolis Colts professional American football team of the National Football League has an official mascot named Blue. An anthropomorphic blue horsewho wears one of the white Indianapolis Colts jackets with a horseshoe on the front is known as Blue the official mascot of the Indianapolis Colts. In the Colts' first home regular season game on September 17, 2006 at RCA Dome against Houston Texans in which the Colts won 43-24, Blue was first introduced. Many believe that blue since joining the Colts have brought a valuable good luck charm and at the same time entertains the Colts fans.

The town where Blue was born is in Jockey, Indiana. As a young horse growing up on a large farm, Blue's favorite hobby was to wear his favorite jackets watching his favorite National Football League team, the Indianapolis Colts, play football every Sunday. Originally, Blue was training to be a race horse, but he suddenly noticed one day on his fur was a big blue spot. Eventually, he turned completely blue. Blue was ridiculed by all the other horses on the farm for his appearance.

Blue couldn't take any more insults, so he decided to run away. In Southern Indiana, he was able to make his way hiding in barns and eat corn to survive. Blue discovered one day that the Colts were having tryouts for team, while reading the newspaper. While filling out the employment application, after arriving at the Colts Training Camp Complex that he didn't have a name.

However, Blue was discovered by Colts owner/CEO Jim Irsay. Blue had a serious potential to offer the Colts, as realized by Irsay while he was listening to the horse telling him of his struggles and travel. Blue was hired wholeheartedly to serve as the official mascot of the Colts. The Colts family has a valuable member named Blue. Currently, he entertains the fans at Indianapolis' new home, Lucas Oil Stadium, wears proudly one of his NFL jackets and cheers along with them at every Colts home game.

Blue deserves to be the official mascot of the team as they both have same struggles and experiences. Blue remained strong and determined as a colt, like the Indianapolis Colts, he has experienced series of adjusments and changes.
